He is a member of the Public Health Research Center (CISP) at NOVA ENSP and the Comprehensive Health Research Center (CHRC) at NOVA University. Minister of Health XXI Constitutional Government (2015-2018). Member of the Board of Directors of the GIMM Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine. Full Academician of the National Academy of Medicine of Portugal. Vice-Chairman of the School Board of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Cross Hospital. Member of the General Council of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra. Chairman of the General Assembly of the Evidence-Based Health Institute. Chairman of Fórum Saúde XXI. Author of dozens of articles and communications. He is a member of several national and international scientific associations.
