Richard Rack

Research Fellow, University of Milan

Dr. Richard Rak is Research Fellow at the University of Milan and Manager for Digital Health Policy at DIGITALEUROPE. He holds a Joint PhD in Law, Science and Technology from the University of Bologna and the University of Turin, and a Doctorate in Law (specialised in Digital Law) from the University of Vienna. As a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action PhD researcher, he analysed privacy, data protection and data governance-related regulatory and compliance issues affecting the deployment and use of new enabling technologies (IoT, AI) and platform services in healthcare. As part of an industrial PhD collaboration, he worked with DocPlanner Group. Prior to that, Richard worked in academia (Ghent University, University of Brescia) and auditing (State Audit Office of Hungary). He also holds a master’s (Dr. jur.) degree in Law, an LL.M. degree in European Law, and two bachelor’s degrees in Economics (in Finance and Accounting and in Human Resource Management).
